Why include a targeted screen?
Fentanyl is an opioid, not an intended ingredient in these research peptides. Screening asks a specific question: does the submitted sample contain the named target within the method’s detection capability? A material mix-up or cross-contamination is the type of event a targeted screen can investigate. This is not evidence that fentanyl contamination is common in peptides or has occurred in our batches.
What exposure can do
Fentanyl can cause severe sedation and dangerously slow or stop breathing. The consequences depend on the amount absorbed and route of exposure; the presence of a screening program does not indicate that routine handling causes poisoning. CDC / NIOSH: fentanyl exposure effects.
In an experiment, any unintended active drug can also create an effect unrelated to the peptide being studied. A chemical purity percentage alone does not answer whether this particular drug was screened for.
Read the target list and reporting limit

Why confirmation may matter
A screening signal can require follow-up depending on the method. Interference or a preliminary finding should be handled through the laboratory’s documented interpretation. Do not label a batch positive—or clear it—using a cropped screen without the final conclusion.
What to request
- The exact targets, including any analogues explicitly covered.
- The method and sample identifier.
- Detection or reporting limits and units.
- The final result and any confirmation or interference notes.
